The Cornwall Public Library strives to make our resources accessible to all patrons through a variety of services, collections, and specialized equipment.
The Library Building:
Our library building is fully accessible. The main entrance features automatic doors for easy access, and the parking lot includes designated accessible parking spots located conveniently close to the main entrance.
Certified service animals, under the direct control of their trainers or owners, are welcome in the library.
Accommodations & Resources:
We offer a wheelchair-accessible computer workstation equipped with a large-print, high-contrast keyboard.
Additionally, we have two Bierley handheld “Maggie” magnifiers available for patrons who need assistance with visibility. Our collection also includes large-print books and large-print editions of Reader’s Digest.
Patrons also have access to the New York State Library’s Talking Book and Braille Library (TBBL). The TBBL lends audio and braille books and magazines, and the necessary playback equipment, to residents of the 55 upstate counties of New York State who are unable to use standard printed materials because of a visual, physical or reading disability. For more information, visit the NYS TBBL website.
CPL also has Homebound Delivery Service. This service is available to anyone living in the Cornwall Central School District who is unable to get to a library because of mental or physical limitations. More information on this service can be found here.
