Artist bio: Maureen Hart:

A Cornwall resident for over 36 years, Maureen has drawn inspiration from the Hudson Valley and her childhood memories. Growing up on the beaches in Queens and then raising her family in Cornwall, NY.

Maureen enjoys exploring new mediums and going wherever her mood takes her. Starting out in with a traditional approach in oils followed by experimental watercolors and now branching out into abstract. She is still finding herself and considers herself to be a forever student.

When gathering with fellow artists wasn’t possible during Covid, Maureen set out in a new direction. Needing a new muse, a friend invited her to join a poetry group via Zoom. Poetry put an unexpected tool in her artist toolbox. She thinks of it as painting with words.

A wife, mother, grandmother, artist and amateur poet, Maureen is still finding herself. This exhibit is a step in her artistic journey. Her hope is that you will enjoy viewing her art as much as she enjoyed making it.
